The Ether-o-dyne is our most advanced crystal radio receiver.

Its advanced matched circuitry gives the best sensitivity and selectivity for both shortwave and medium-wave radio signals (550kHz-12mHz). This crystal radio receiver offers impedance matching from antenna to headphones, made possible by a switchable parallel/series LC antenna tuner capable of tuning any antenna length, an absorption wave trap, an impedance wave trap, a tunable inductance to ground, and a tunable LC main tuning tank.

The Ether-o-dyne Crystal Radio Receiver is built on a finished pattern-grade mahogany base and includes matched antique variable capacitors; matched antique dials; and matched antique switch points, sliders, and binding posts. This crystal radio receiver's coils are wound with the finest quality dyed, double cotton-covered wire on genuine phenolic forms for a truly classic appearance. A separate cat's whisker and steel galena crystal unit comes with this set. As a final touch, this crystal radio comes with a pair of antique Baldwin or Western Electric high-impedance headphones, the finest headphones ever made for crystal radio listening. For convenience, a mini-amplifier also is included.

When connected to a good (easy to construct) antenna and ground system, the Ether-o-dyne's performance exceeds the highest expectations of most crystal radio experimenters. Complete instructions for set-up and operation are included.

Kit available for $365. The Ether-o-dyne Crystal Radio Receiver Kit comes with coils already wound and the front panel assembled. You do the wiring and finish the wood. You will need a soldering gun, solder, sandpaper, and wood finish of your choice. You will need to read electronic schematic diagrams, solder, and build simple wire antenna and ground arrangements. Building and operating instructions are included.
